Richard Branson wed Kristen Tomassi in 1972, but the two divorced in 1979, leaving no children from the union. Career 

When he was sixteen, Richard Branson was the editor of the Student magazine. He opened a record store in 1971. The publication gained notoriety as “Virgin.” He founded Virgin Records, a record label, in 1972. In addition, he founded The Manor facility, a recording facility.
